Lindsey Vonn and Julia Mancuso may be competing in Thursday’s Olympic super combined, but they still stopped by the U.S. Ski Team House in Whistler after the medals ceremony to greet friends and family. Once there, Bill Marolt, CEO of the United States Ski and Snowboard Association gave the ladies a warm, champagne toast.

Marolt aknowledged the two women for literally charging the course, which he said was remarkablely tough. Vonn herself had said that the Whistler Olympic downhill track was one of the bumpiest she’d ever skied in her career.

The women thanked USSA and their families for helping to make their medals possible, and Mancuso broke into tears. Present were several friends and family members from the Squaw Valley area, decked out in matching blue and white hoodies (their official Mancuso fan club uniforms).

As patrons congratulated Vonn and Mancuso, and enjoyed sushi and other hors d’oeuvres, Shaun White claimed another snowboard halfpipe gold medal on TV screens around the house. It was definitely a joyful night of reverie, and if all goes as planned with the super combined, Thursday night should be just as fun.
