Olympic Gods play practical joke on French Olympic skier Marion Rolland

Oh, Marion Rolland. Why have the Olympic Gods plagued you so? For the record, we love you and know of your inherent awesomeness on the slopes. Folks, ski racing can be anyone’s game sometimes…so many variables come into play that can alter a performance from one day to another. Just ask Lindsey Vonn, who won a gold medal one day and crashed the next.

Imagine training all day and night for four straight years in preparation for these Olympic Games. You’ve never worked harder for anything in all your life. The world is watching your big day. And then…this happens.

To add icing on the cake, Marion injured her knee when she fell and had to be helped off the course.

Well, at least she’ll be remembered. Comedian Jerry Seinfeld has a good take on the Olympics that sort of embodies this story (although he focuses more on the silver medal).

Julia Mancuso, clearly you’re a rockstar and have made the US history books for your genius abilities on the slopes…but you gotta admit that’s kinda funny.
