Underdogs Andrea Fischbacher, Tina Maze take gold and silver, Lindsey Vonn takes bronze in Olympic women’s super-G

What a race!!! It looked like Lindsey Vonn was on her way to her second Olympic gold medal of these Games, when underdog racer from Austria Andrea Fischbacher took it from her by .74 of a second!! Then right now, Slovenian racer Tina Maze shocked everyone by coming in with a time of 1:20.63 to take the silver medal, knocking Lindsey Vonn to bronze!!! The race isn’t over yet, but right now it looks like Fischbacher is headed for gold, with Tina Maze heading for silver, and Lindsey Vonn on her way to bronze. Julia Mancuso, while giving a solid race, has been knocked off the podium. The biggest threat to remain is Anja Paerson. We’ll let you know what happens!

 

UPDATE 11:00 AM: The race appears to be virtually over with these same results standing. Austrian Andrea Fischbacher takes gold. The 24-year-old racer previously took bronze in the 2009 World Championships for Super-G in Val d’Isere. Tina Maze, from Slovenia, takes silver. The 26-year-old previously took silver at the 2009 Giant Slalom World Championships in Val d’Isere. Lindsey Vonn won another medal today as she was able to grab the bronze.
