We have just received a report that U.S. ski racer Julia Mancuso, who has won 2 silver medals in these Olympic Games, has donated $10,000 to the Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District’s physical education program. Phenomenal.

In 2006, Julia won the gold medal in the giant slalom, and in these Games, her silvers came in the downhill and the super combined disciplines. She was born in Reno, Nevada in March of 1984, but grew up in Lake Tahoe. Indeed, a ski run at the Squaw Valley Ski Resort has been renamed “Julia’s Gold”.

The Tahoe-Truckee Unified School District must be thrilled with the donation. Way to show off the generous and giving spirit of ski racers, Julia!
