Luckily for the ladies battling fog and awful course conditions, the Predator opted out for of today’s Winter Olympics giant slalom.  To succed under impossibly foggy conditions, you’d need infared vision.  Taking into consideration that the racers are human, race officials have decided to delay the start of the second run.

Currently Elisabeth Goergl of Austria is in first position, Taina Barioz of France is in second, and Kathrin Zettel of Austria is in third.  Julia Mancuso’s defense of her Olympic giant slalom gold was thwarted by some serious bad luck.  Lindsey Vonn crashed ahead of Mancuso, and her run was aborted.  By the time she was able to go again, some 20 racers later, the course was destroyed.  Mancuso is in 18th after the first run.

Race officials have said the delay is for 30 minutes, and the course will be shortened by 10 gates.
