The alleged shooter involved in yesterday’s horrific incident at Deer Creek Middle School, Bruco Eastwood, is currently being held on $1 million bond. Chief Jefferson County Judge Tom Vance told Eastwood that he has “substantial concerns” that Eastwood poses a threat and risk to the community.

13-year-old Reagan Weber’s arm was injured when bullet fragments hit her. She is wearing a bandage but will endure no permanent damage.

14-year-old Matthew Thieu was shot in the chest yesterday and was in critical condition. Today, he has improved to serious condition. His family said that he is recovering from a fractured rib and a lung injury, and is doing better.

“We want to thank the community, our family and friends for their outpouring of support. We appreciate everyone’s concern, but ask that our privacy be respected so that we may devote all of our time and energy toward Matthew’s recovery,” the statement issued by the hospital said. “We appreciate the care he is receiving at the Children’s Hospital, and he is in God’s hands.”
