Blind man gets USA first Olympic gold medal in 62 years

Yes you did read that headline correctly.  The US Bobsledders finally won a gold medal after 62 years of failing in the bobsled.  And, they did it with a blind driver…well at least two years ago he was legally blind and then he got eye surgery.  OK, we completely bullshitted you on the blind driver thing.  But in this media world, you have to have engaging headlines (please see our story on Team Canada’s naked, lesbian curling team.)  The blind driver, or uh er, the driver formerly known as the blind driver, Steven Holcomb the pilot of the four man team credited his eye problem with helping him feel the track better than his competitors.  The last time the US bobsled team won the gold was in 1948 in St. Moritz.
