Ellen DeGeneres, Lindsey Vonn help Haiti with autographed skis

A gag gift from talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres to Olympic gold-medalist Lindsey Vonn is being regifted on eBay to help Haiti. On “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” Tuesday, the host gave Vonn Head skis and Leki poles with pictures of DeGeneres’ face all over them.

Apparently Vonn and her sponsors prefer to see company logos rather than DeGeneres’ face when she races down the mountain, so Vonn decided to auction them on eBay to benefit the Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund. Vonn signed both the skis and poles. Plus, DeGeneres’ autograph comes as a bonus on a “Letter of Authenticity” signed by the television personality.

The eBay charity auction runs through Tuesday, March 9. By Wednesday afternoon, 30 bids had been placed with the high bid at $1,575.

Vonn has been making the talk-show rounds after her two-medal performance at the Olympics. She also appeared on “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” on Monday night. It’s back to business though for Vonn as she returns to Europe for World Cup competition.
