New Kelly Slater Flick in 3D

Just because we are skiers and snowboarders, it doesn’t mean we don’t love all things alternative sports. Like Shaun White and Lindsey Vonn, Kelly Slater is a hero whether you are a surfer, a curler, or a figure skater. With the release of his new film the Ultimate Wave Tahiti showing in 3D this weekend I can’t help but get excited and share the news.

Andrew Barker of the Variety reviewed the flick, saying- “Technical contributions are stellar.” He also explaines the plot as “Nominally an exploration of the famously savage surf spot Teahupo’o…, the film follows surf legend Kelly Slater and Tahitian guru Raimana Van Bastolaer as they prepare to tackle it” giving us a better idea of what we are getting ourselves into. The film features magestic shots and historical explanations of the Islands, similiar to surf movies such as “peel” which took us through Peru.

Don’t stress, we still have plenty of winter left, but we can dream of where we will be heading when we are not on the mountains.

After taking some turns this weekend make sure to check out the flick at your nearest IMAX.
