If he’s a hero to the United States, then to Carrabassett Valley in Maine (specifically at the Sugarloaf ski area), then two-time Olympic gold medalist Seth Wescott is something more than human.
The hometown hero will arrive there on Saturday where he will be greeted as a hero as a giant celebration will be held in his honor. His hometown will be the first stop of his national “VISA Seth Wescott Ride With Me Tour”.
On Saturday, the party at Sugarloaf begins at 1PM. General Manager John Diller, Norway Bank President Bob Harmon, and Maine Governor John Baldacci will offer their congratulations to Wescott.
“The entire Sugarloaf community and State of Maine are so proud of Seth and everything he has achieved, and we really want this homecoming ceremony to be something special,” Diller said. “I think a lot of people are truly excited to see Seth and to meet him in person, and we just can’t wait to welcome him back home to Sugarloaf.”
“Seth Wescott is such an accomplished, inspiring athlete and role model,” said Harmon. “The Norway Savings Bank family is so proud of Seth and we are absolutely thrilled to welcome him back to Maine and congratulate him on his Olympic achievement.”
At 1:30, Seth will make a grand entrance and then give a speech. After that, you can get his autograph. Finally at 4:30, there will be a “Toast to Seth” in the Widowmaker Lounge.
