Wow, Mother Nature is not liking the sport of competitive skiing today. Race after race after race has been canceled—now we’re receiving reports that the European Freeski Open halfpipe has been canceled too!

In Laax, Switzerland today, fog, heavy snow and wind contributed to the cancellation. This is the first time that both the Slopestyle and Halfpipe have been canceled at the European Freeski Open. Bummer.

The one good side is that officials said they would take 50% of the overall prize purse and evenly distribute it to all the competitors. So, say goodbye to the European Freeski Open. Tomorrow begins the European X Games!
