Looking to add a bit of culture to your California trip after you shred some mighty powder? Look around you. Everything natural you see…the mountains, the oceans…these natural wonders inspired some of the most well renowned, admired, and studied authors of our time. In Cali, visit the homes of such literary celebrities as Mark Twain, Eugene O’Neill, Robert Louis Stevenson, William Saroyan, Will Rogers and Robinson Jeffers, among others.  Walk down Monterey’s Cannery Row, which inspired John Steinbeck’s classic novel, or visit the nearby National Steinbeck Center in Salinas. Up north, visit Jack London State Historic Park with a view of Sonoma Mountain, or check out Jack London Square on Oakland’s waterfront. Who says skiers and snowboarders can’t be erudite literary scholars? Spend enough time soaking in California’s nature, and perhaps you’ll be inspired to write the next Great American novel!
