This morning, a giant aftershock of magnitude 7.2 hit Chile. The Navy has issued a tsunami alert. No damage has been reported yet, but this aftershock is by far the biggest that has hit since the 8.8 quake that hit on February 27th.
The tremor hit about 100 miles southwest of Santiago, the capital. Buildings were jolted and windows shook heavily, but again, no damage has been reported. Ski Portillo also has reported no damage as of now. Earlier in the day, two other aftershocks with magnitudes of about 5.0 hit the central part of the country.
We will update you if anything drastic happens.
