Crested Butte Mountain Resort Prepares for Music Filled Weekend
With just a week to go before Crested Butte Mountain Resort’s (CBMR) first annual Ski Town Breakdown it’s time for everyone to dust off the dancing shoes. The main event is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. on March 27th at the base of the resort and will feature opening act Pete Kilpatrick Band followed by headliner and Colorado favorite Yonder Mountain String Band.
General admission tickets are priced at $35 each and are available for purchase on the CBMR website until Wednesday, March 24th. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the Adventure Center in Mountaineer Square beginning Monday, March 22nd through show time on Saturday March 27th.
A limited number of VIP tickets are also available for $99 and include an exclusive meet and greet with the band prior to the show. During the show VIPs will enjoy private food and drink service and of course plenty of elbow room from the deck at Butte 66.
All tickets purchased online will be available for pickup beginning Monday, March 22nd through Friday, March 26th at the Mountain Concierge Desk in the Adventure Center from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To avoid the crowds, it is highly recommended that you pick up your tickets prior to show day if possible. Day of show ‘will call’ will be in The Lodge at Mountaineer Square Ballroom from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Venue gates will open at 2 pm on the day of the show for early birds to stake out their areas. The Pete Kilpatrick Band takes the stage at 3:15 p.m. with Yonder Mountain String Band kicking off at 4:30 p.m. until about 7:00 p.m. No outside food or beverage will be allowed, however lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.
Pre-show Sleigh Ride Dinner
For those looking to add to the weekend’s music experience, Friday night Pete Kilpatrick and Adam Gardner of Guster will perform an acoustic set at Uley’s Cabin. This show will be accessed via a stunning sleigh ride up the mountain and includes the signature Uley’s dinner experience. Tickets for this acoustic dinner are $85 and can be reserved by calling 970.349.4554.
After the Yonder show, those who still haven’t gotten their fill can make their way to Butte 66 where Portland Maine’s Roy Davis will be on hand for a post-show party complete with drink specials from the fine folks at Budweiser. Davis brings an indie rock style that has been described as a blend of minimalist roots arrangements and heavy handed dirge-rock.
Kid’s Night Out
For those looking to enjoy the show without the little ones in tow, there will be an extended Kids Night Out on Saturday from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Camp CB. Cost is $65 and includes dinner. Reservations must be made in advance no later than 5pm on Friday March 26 by calling 349.4185.
