Spring is in the air here in Southern California, and with the coming of a new season, a new batch of programming has appeared on The Ski Channel.  We like to change things up twice a month, so be on the lookout around the 10th of the month and the 25th for new shows.  Some are TSC originals, like the Mammoth Invitational, while others are acquired, like Warren Miller movies or FreeskierTV.  We have two new additions to our lineup this time, “Summer Skiing the Ring of Fire” and “Hunting Yeti.”  For more information, see below, and make sure to check back for our bi-monthly updates!

Summer Skiing the Ring of Fire

This is the film’s maiden voyage on the network, and it is a show you do not want to miss.  Produced by Working Title Productions, the film is a first-person ski mountaineering documentary told through the eyes of Emerson University graduate and filmmake Shawn Emery.  Along wiht his brother, Michael, and his friends, the group travels to some of the biggest volcanic rocks in the Pacific Northwest.  There’s amazing skiing footage, along with traditional documentary elements.

Hunting Yeti

The husband and wife team, Eric and Erin Pollard, also known by their production company, Nimbus Independent, are creating a fresh take on mountain films.  “Hunting Yeti” captures the Nimbus Independent crew beginning the season at Mt. Hood and ending at North Cascade Heli-Skiing.  Nimbus’ mantra is “Freeskiing made fun,” and “Hunting Yeti” definitely exemplifies this slogan.
