Massive storm hits Telluride

                                                                    22 Inches in 24 Hours—Most Accumulation in Ski Country!

TELLURIDE, Colo. (March 27, 2010) – A storm hit the San Juan Mountain Friday, bringing an incredible 22 inches of snow to the Telluride Ski Area in the last 24 hours. Snow fell at a rate of 2-4 inches per hour throughout the area Friday evening and night.

Today, more snow showers are expected, mainly before noon. High near 35 with a north wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. Total daytime snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.

Tonight, a 20 percent chance of snow showers before 9pm. Partly cloudy, with a low around 13. North wind 5 to 10 mph becoming southeast. Sunday sunny conditions are expected, with a high near 47.

Telluride is primed for a primo final week, with the Drew Emmitt Band making a much anticipated appearance at the Ski Resort, Sunday, April 4, Easter Sunday. Drink and food specials available all day, come and enjoy fun in the sun Telluride’s final ski season day!
