Easter celebrations at Snowbird ski area

This Sunday is Easter, and what better place to celebrate than at a ski resort? Don’t worry, religious observers, there’s a service involved. Utah’s Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort is offering both fun and sincerity for this holiday.

On Sunday, the festivities begin with a free Sunrise Service on 11,000-foot Hidden Peak at precisely 7:06 AM. Gorgeous place to have a service. Then at 9 AM, enjoy the annual free children’s Easter Egg hunt around the Chickadee ski run at the base of the area.

To get to the service, Snowbird is offering free tram rides beginning at 5:40 AM. If the weather is inclement, the service will be held on the Snowbird Center Plaza Deck or in the nearby Alpine rooms. Complimentary hot chocolate will be served, and music will be provided by local favorites Kevyn & Rex. Participants will not be allowed to board the Tram with skis or snowboards.

Kids will love the Easter Egg Hunt because they’ll get to hang out with the Easter Bunny! The Hunt will be broken up into three age divisions: 4 and under, 5-7 years old, and 8-11 years old. The event begins at 9 a.m. and participants should meet on the Plaza Deck with their own Easter baskets.

After the great Hunt, enjoy Easter Brunch from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Atrium Restaurant and the Aerie Restaurant, both located in Snowbird’s Cliff Lodge. Special menu items include three pepper roasted prime rib, cherry cola glaze bone-in ham, assorted sushi, a chocolate fountain and more. Reservations are recommended by calling (801) 933-2182. The Forklift restaurant on the Snowbird Plaza Deck will also be offering a full breakfast menu from 7:30 to 11 a.m.
