Good news for skiers and riders all over the country: Nissan announced today that its electric car, the Leaf, will go on sale just in time for next ski and snowboard season.  The Leaf will be available in December, and the sticker price will be $32,780.  However, a federal tax credit of $7,500 will bring the price of the car down to $25,280.  Nissan has also said that there will be variants of the Leaf in the ensuing years, and that there will be a luxury Infiniti version of the car as well.

In the next few weeks, Nissan will begin taking refundable deposits of $99 for the car.  If you do send in a deposit, then you can have your home inspected to make sure there is enough space and wiring for the installation of the charging dock.  Installation of the home chrger will be around $2,200, but there will also be a tax credit on it that will cover half the cost up to $2,000.
