Besides actually skiing in the springtime, our second favorite springtime activity is skiing on water! Ever done it? Pond skimming is a rush, you really should try it.

Well, if you’re around the Stoneham ski area this weekend, you can! Stoneham, which is north of Quebec City, is hosting the 11th edition of the Arctic Spas Super Splash, their pond skimming event. Professional divers from Nautilus will rescue the unsuccessful and two warm hot tubs will be set up beside the giant pool for each participant to relax and warm up in. Stoneham is expecting about 500 people to come out.

Registration costs CAN $10 to enter, and takes place at Stoneham’s base lodge beginning at 8:30 a.m. this Sunday. The main event starts at 12:30 p.m. Prizes will be awarded at the Bar Quatre-Foyers beginning at 4 p.m.

Those who arrive at Stoneham this weekend wearing bunny ears ski or ride for CAN $31 per adult and CAN $18 per kid, a saving of up to $20 on the regular rates.
