Watch the mountains tremble from yesterday’s Mexican earthquake

Earlier today we reported on the 7.2-magnitude earthquake that rattled Mexico and Southern California yesterday. Since then, we’ve received floods of emails asking us if we have any footage of the quake. Well, we don’t have any of our own, but someone submitted this cool video to CNN. Since it involves the mountains, we thought it fit our profile enough…

These friends were driving on the highway south of Mexicali (where the epicenter lies) when the quake struck. They pulled over because their car was swaying heavily back and forth. When they got out, they looked at the mountains and saw an incredible amount of dust being kicked up from the shaking. Here’s the video they captured.
