One airline will start charging for carry-on bags

Just when you didn’t think you could have to pay for much more when you head off for that weekend ski or riding trip, we find out we were wrong.  Spirit Airlines announced Tuesday that it is now going to start charging its customers between $20 and $45 for their carry-on items they put in overhead bins.  The price will depend on whether a passenger is a member of the airline’s ultra-low fare club and if they pre-reserve their carry-on bag.  Passengers will be able to have one personal item that fits below the seat for free, and the new fee is effective for reservations made after April 5 for travel starting August 1.
