On Thursday night, a 43-year-old cross-country skier used his cell phone to contact authorities, letting them know he was lost. The man was near the Ski Bowl area in Mt. Hood, in an area known as Still Creek.
He was found by search parties just after 6AM this morning. His wife said he packed matches and a knife with him, but was otherwise unprepared for overnight conditions (which included light snow and temperatures in the 20′s).
The unidentified skier’s condition has not been released, but it is known that he is safe.
