As the winter begins to melt away (except perhaps in Mammoth Mountain!), we have to search for other ways to enjoy the mountains. One of our favorite late spring and summer mountain activities is mountain biking.

If you’re in West Virginia this summer, you should definitely hit up the mountain bike trails of the Timberline Ski Resort, or the Timberline Four Seasons Resort. The resort has contracted with Gravity Logic, a consulting firm out of Whistler, to design and set up mountain bike trail plans.

Gravity Logic is a company that knows what’s what. They created the well-known Whistler Mountain Bike Park, widely believed the be the gold standard  of mountain bike areas.

Other groups involved with this project include the IMBA (International Mountain Bike Association) and the NWTA (Northwest Trail Alliance), as well as the U.S. Forest Service.
