John Cleese was taping an appearance on a popular Norwegian talk show Thursday night when found out his plane was grounded.

Cleese is famous for his writing and starring in the British sitcom Fawlty Towers, thought by many to be the best sitcom ever produced in the history of Television.  It ran for only 2 season (12 episodes total).  He is also well known for his part in the highly popular Monty Python series, and his films, including the huge hit A Fish Called Wanda.

Cleese’s Norwegian publicist called a good friend, a cabbie, and asked him to take Cleese on the 15 hour ride from Oslo to Brussels.  Cleese hopes to catch a train Saturday back to London.  The fare will come in at around 30,000-kroner, or $5,100.

Basil Fawlty would likely not have been amused.
