The bill that would require skiers and boarders under the age of 18 to wear helmets on the mountain is one step closer to becoming law.  Today, the bill passed in the California state Assembly Judiciary Committee, and it will now be sent to the Assembly floor for approval.  Democratic Assemblyman Dave Jones from Sacramento created the legislation, and in addition to the helmet part, it would also require ski resorts to file montly reports about injuries and deaths along with annual safety plans.
