                         Final Weekend of Skiing/Riding on Aspen Mountain to Feature Live Music, Deals on Lodging, Ski School

                                                                                and Rental/Retail Items

                                                        Up to 13 inches of Snow Predicted by Saturday Morning

Aspen/Snowmass, Colo., April 22, 2010 – This weekend, April 24-25, 2010 is the last call for skiing/riding in Aspen/Snowmass for the 2009-2010 season.   Seven to 13 inches of snow is predicted to fall in Aspen by Saturday morning, hopefully providing one last powder day for skiers/riders.

The Silver Queen Gondola, Ajax Express and F.I.S. lifts will be running from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. accessing as much terrain as conditions permit with the exception of The Dumps, Kristy’s and Hyrup’s.  Patrol will be monitoring conditions throughout the weekend and may close terrain as needed.

This final weekend of the extended season will go out in style with live music and plenty of deals from lodging and rentals to après specials at Ajax Tavern. Below is the complete event schedule:

Saturday, April 17

12-3 p.m. – DJ Naka G at the Sundeck

Starting at 2:30 p.m. – Slightly White at the Ajax Tavern

Sunday, April 18

1-3 p.m. – Trenton Allan & The Good Timey Groove Gang

Starting at 2:30 p.m. – Slightly White at the Ajax Tavern

The Sundeck will fire up the grill and will offer food and drink specials.  Ajax Tavern will offer après specials from 3 – 6 p.m. including $15 for a burger & pint of beer as well as $1.50 oysters on the half shell and more.

Spring Deals

Not only has the extended season brought extra days of skiing and riding, these last days of the season will allow for huge savings on everything from lodging to ski and snowboard school.  Lodging starts as low as $25 in Snowmass and $37.50 in Aspen based on availability and dates.* Children and adult group lessons are only $75 per day and adult private lessons start at $259 for a half day.  D&E Ski and Snowboard Shop, just across the street from the gondola, is also offering 50 percent off rentals as well as 50 percent off skis, boots & bindings; 50 percent off snowboards, boots and bindings; 25 percent off helmets and 50 percent off all outerwear.

Lift ticket information

All Aspen/Snowmass season passes are valid as they are during the regular season. Flex Passes are valid for one day each weekend. Additional days for Flex, Classic and Escape Passholders are $19. Adult tickets will be $39 per day, youth and seniors will pay $29 and children’s tickets will be $19. As always children six and under ski for free. Current season passholders from any other resort will pay just $29 for their lift ticket.
