We reported on this story when it first happened and got some emails asking us to keep our readers posted. So for those of you following the Bret Michaels story, know that the Poison lead singer is still in the intensive care unit following a brain hemorrhage he suffered last Thursday. He is slurring his speech, he is dizzy and has blurred vision. The bleeding originated at the base of his brain stem. When the headache first hit him, he described it like “[getting] hit in the head with a baseball bat over and over again”.

A source representing Bret said that “after several CAT scans, MRIs and an angiogram, [doctors] decided to keep Michaels in the ICU and are running several tests to determine the cause [of the hemorrhage]. [It] will be touch and go for the next few days while he is under intense observation.”

Bret has re-surfaced in the media lately through an appearance on “The Celebrity Apprentice”. On Sunday night’s episode, NBC made this statement: “Everyone here at NBC wishes Bret Michaels a speedy recovery”.

Earlier this month, Michaels had an emergency appendectomy, and he called that a “wake-up call to be a little bit more diligent on keeping control of my health”. We wish him the best and hope he can recover fully and quickly from this hemorrhage.
