NEW YORK — Tuesday night, Olympic gold medalist Billy Demong (Vermontville, NY) will be atop the pitchers mound at New York’s Citi Field, throwing out the first ball at the Mets game.

Are you a Mets fan?
Of course! Actually, I like rooting against other peoples teams more than having favorites of my own… Is that bad?

Are you excited? Nervous? What do you think it will be like?
Well I’m psyched. Hopefully it’ll be a good crowd and I’ll keep the ball in the air and down the middle.

What is your pitching experience, and do you think you will make it across the plate.
Absolutely, zero pitching experience but good snowball fighting skills.

Have you been practicing at all? What is your technique?
No time to practice!

What is more pressure: A successful pitch, being on the brink of winning the first gold medal for the U.S. in Nordic Combined with 500feet to the finish line to go?

Gold medal fever! Any medal for that matter.
