Special Presentation by Renowned Expedition Mountaineer, Dave Hahn

(Carbondale, Colo.) — Running January through April, the 5Point Film Festival encourages all to “get your adventure on” through its new monthly Film Series—the second Wednesday of every month—at Dos Gringos restaurant in Carbondale, Colorado. The 5Point Film Series is free and open to the public, offering the Roaring Fork Valley community a sampling of award-winning adventure films, special guests and programs like those shown at its four-day festival in spring. The adventure documentary, Mount St. Elias, kick things off on Wednesday, January 13th at 7:00pm. Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis. 5Point’s Film Series, like its upcoming festival scheduled for April 29 – May 2, 2010, seeks to engage audiences and encourage celebration of our common spirit.

Event founder, Julie Kennedy, explains the core intention of the 5Point Film Series: “In the months leading up to our annual festival, we simply wanted to get the community energized and excited for what’s to come.” Adds Kennedy, “The 5Point Film Series is a fantastic way to carry our message of ‘inspiring adventure’ throughout the rest of winter and into spring when filmmakers and audiences will once again gather to make change. That’s what the 5Point Film Festival is all about.”
