Snowmobile recall

Bombardier Recreational Products is recalling BRP Ski-Doo snowmobiles sold at Ski-Doo dealerships nationwide from July 2008 to February 2010. The problem lies in that the drive pulley bolts on the snowmobiles can break due to an oil contamination that occurred during the assembly process. This can cause debris to come off the vehicle and act as projectiles, posing a danger of contacting others.

The recall involves Ski-Doo model year 2009-2010 SKANDIC SWT V-800 and model year 2010 GSX 1200, GTX 1200, MXZ 1200, and Renegade 1200 Snowmobiles. The model name and number are displayed on the engine compartment and the serial number is on the right side of the vehicle below the seat on the frame.

Consumers should contact their local Ski-Doo snowmobile dealer to schedule a free repair.

Consumers can also contact BRP at (800) 366-6992 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. ET Monday through Friday or visit www.brp.com. More info at www.recalls.org.
