Big Sky’s only public course is entering the 2010 summer with the goal of introducing new people to the sport with clinics, lessons, and deals. The Big Sky Golf Course, an 18 hole Arnold Palmer designed course in the Big Sky Meadow Village offers a practice facility, driving range, pro-shop and bar and grill featuring outdoor seating.

The scenic course is bisected by the West Fork of the Gallatin River and at 6,800 feet above sea level, the thin air induces extra carry for all players providing a perfect, confidence boosting place to learn. In addition to the scenic mountain ranges nearby, the course can host all sorts of non-golfing friends like moose, coyotes and beavers.

The new Junior Has a Fit program will be introduced this year to the Big Sky Golf Course. This program allows youngsters, ages three to seventeen the ability to own quality clubs that fit them. As the child grows, parents can exchange the smaller clubs with a new set made to fit as well, allowing the clubs to grow with the child. The clubs sets come with a bag and five clubs and are available in left and right handed clubs.

Following the Junior Has a Fit program, the course will also be featuring junior golf camps for children in the fifth grade and older in several sessions this summer.

To introduce more young girls to the sport of golfing, Big Sky will participate in “Take your Daughter to the Course Week” July 5-11 sponsored by Play Golf America. Big Sky will offer free green fees for young women accompanied by an adult and will offer a free clinic on Wednesday, July 7. The clinic includes basic swing instruction on the driving range. All range balls & equipment will be provided at no charge. Throughout the entire month of July, children will play free with a paying adult after 3 p.m. and the month of June will bring free 10 minute lessons on the driving range to anyone that asks.

“Playing on the huge success of our ladies clinics, we wanted to step it up and create additional clinics and opportunities for the children to get into the sport,” said Mark Savoy, Big Sky Golf Course Pro and Manager. “With our expanded schedule of tournaments, clinics, lessons and discounts there is no reason not to play golf this summer.”

The popular Tuesday Ladies Clinics will be back again starting June 8 and running every Tuesday until September 14. The clinics are at 10a.m. or 5:30 p.m and are $10 per session or $100 for the entire season. For a full list of tournaments and clinics call 1-406-995-5780 for details or visit www.bigskyresort.com.
