The HEAD Racing Team welcomes a new racer for the speed disciplines. It only took one day of testing to convince Werner Heel to race on HEAD equipment until 2014. The Italian World Cup winner will be using the whole package of skis, ski boots and bindings.

“This transfer is huge motivation for me. The past success of Hermann Maier, Bode Miller and Didier Cuche proved how fast and reliable the HEAD race equipment is. The professional and personable team made my decision easy and I am very much looking forward to working with them.” the Italian explains his reasons for changing supplier.

Werner Heel has already proved his skills in the speed disciplines in the World Cup. In February 2008 he celebrated his very first World Cup win, two more followed so far. During his career he has finished 7 times on the World Cup podium. At the past Olympic Winter Games at Vancouver / Whistler he missed the podium by a heartbeat and finished 4th. HEAD as his new supplier will assist Werner in every way to improve this record.

“Werner is an excellent racer with huge potential. He finished second in the Overall Super G World Cup standings last year and third in Downhill past season. We are looking forward to together moving onwards“, explains Rainer Salzgeber, Director of the HEAD Race Department. Also Johan Eliasch, CEO of HEAD, is pleased to welcome Werner Heel to the team: “Werner is a nice guy and great ski racer. Fans in Southern Tyrol and all over Italy follow his races and keep fingers crossed for him. We’re looking forward to a great cooperation.”
