Jordan Romero has become the youngest person to summit Mt. Everest. The 13-year-old from Big Bear Lake, CA was part of a climbing group that included his father Paul and three Sherpas.
Catherine Sandstrom of KBHR.com confirmed to The Ski Channel late Friday night that Jordan had completed the summit of Mt. Everest, but had yet to descend the dangerous northern route of Tibet.
Romero now is the youngest ever to scale Everest, beating out Nepal’s Temba Tsheri, who accomplished the feat in 2001, at the age of 16 years and 14 days.
