Jackson Hole gets more snow – tram opens tomorrow

Yes you are reading this right.  It is snowing in Jackson Hole.  They are opening the tram tomorrow for the summer, but the first people in line are going to be wearing skis, boots, bindings and poles.  The North Face, Columbia, First Ascent and Patagonia will be adorning the mountain as a big group are going skiing.

“I’m headed to Cody on the first tram,” said famous Jackson Hole stalward turned artist extraordinaire, Mike Tierney.  The master billy goat linesman said, “since the mountain has been closed since April and gotten tons of storms, there is more untracked powder than ever and complete coverage.  It is going to be incredible.”  FYI:  if you have not seen Mike Tierney’s paintings (many of which are of Cody,) sprint to Jackson Hole and buy one – they are SPECTACULAR!!!  The guy can paint nearly as well as he can ski.

Other ski resorts open this weekend include Mammoth Mountain, Snowbird, Alta, Alyeska, Heavenly, Donner and Squaw Valley to name a few.  This has got to be the best late season in a decade.
