Squaw Valley, CA – Mountaintop ice skating, dining, swimming, tennis and hiking are the usual fun summer activities in Squaw Valley. This year, however, guests can also enjoy mountain biking, paintball, zip-lining and disc golf at the Lake Tahoe-area ski and snowboard resort.

With the most vertical of any bike park in Tahoe, Squaw Valley will offer a downhill trail for mountain bikers with free-ride elements and cross-country trails. Bikers can ride Squaw’s Cable Car to access the terrain by purchasing a day bike ticket. Mountain biking will open mid to late summer depending on the snowmelt conditions.

To accommodate bikers, Squaw Valley is also opening a new bike rental shop, located at the base of the mountain. Starting June 12, the shop will rent downhill bikes and trail bikes, as well as comfort cruisers for use on the well-renowned Truckee River Bike Path. Safety gear, attachable trail-a-bikes and trailers for children will also be available for rent.

Squaw Valley’s paintball arena will open at High Camp, the local mountaintop oasis for summer activities. Paintball will be open daily starting mid-summer, and semi-automatic paintball guns, masks and safety equipment will be available for rent on-site. Open to the general public, Squaw Valley’s paintball will also be available for parties, corporate events and team building exercises as well.

Kids can soar over the mountain this summer on a new zip-line scheduled to open mid-summer pending on snowmelt conditions.

Squaw Valley has also added 18 holes of disc golf at an 8,200 ft elevation. The course is set to open mid-summer at High Camp pending on the snowmelt conditions. Discs will be available for rent and for purchase at the High Camp Bath and Tennis Shop.
