Stowe Mountain Club today announced that PGA Professional, Ron Philo will serve as their new Head Pro and Club Manager.

Philo, a PGA Tour veteran, has over 20 years of professional experience including eight Major PGA Championship appearances and one US Open. Additionally, he has played in over a dozen other PGA Tour events.

Especially appealing to club members seeking private lessons might be Philo’s award as ‘Best Teacher in State’ by Golf Digest and New England Golf Journal.

Some might question the appeal of the cold New England Winters for a golf professional, but Philo doesn’t buy into that way of thinking.

“While the choice of Stowe comes with the choice of winter seasons too, which for golf professionals is a daunting obstacle, the indoor facilities of Stowe Mountain Club will allow me to stay in touch with the game and continue to share it with students even during golf’s off-season. Stowe also gives me and my family the opportunity to explore new horizons through the alpine experience.” Philo adds.

Stowe Mountain Club is a year-round, resort-private club with incomparable social and recreational amenities. Limited membership is available to Spruce Peak at Stowe residents and by invitation, while Stowe Mountain Lodge guests enjoy a temporary membership during their stay.
