Skiers and snowboarders got a huge vote of confidence from the mainstream media today, as ESPN released the nominees for their annual ESPY Awards. Included in the nominations were hordes of skiers and snowboarders ranging everywhere from Olympic Champions to X Games studs.

Not surprisingly, Olympic and World Cup Champion skier Lindsey Vonn received multiple nominations for “Best Female Athlete” and “Best Female US Olympic Athlete.” Fellow US Olympic skiers Hannah Kearney and Julia Mancuso were also nominated for “Best Female US Olympic Athlete.”

Bode Miller, who ran the cycle of Olympic medals this year, was nominated for “Best Male US Olympic Athlete.”

Holding it down for the X Games kids was teen heartthrob Bobby Brown who secured his first ESPY nomination as “Best Male Action Sports Athlete,” after becoming the first skier to win two gold medals at the same Winter X Games.

Also nominated was freestyle skier Jen Hudak, who grabbed her first Winter X Games Gold with her Women’s Ski Superpipe crown. She will be facing some stiff competition as snowboarder Torah Bright and Canadian Olympic Skier X Champion Ashleigh McIvor are also nominated.

Of course, it wouldn’t be an awards show without Mr. Hollywood a.k.a. Shaun White as his captivating performances at both the 2010 Winter Olympics and Winter X Games made him an easy nominee for “Best Championship Performance, Best Male Action Sport Athlete, and Best Male US Olympic Athlete.”

Be sure to log on and vote for all your favorites before the show on July 14th.
