An unidentified 56-year-old woman has died in a hospital after a ski accident at New Zealand resort Mt. Hutt on Monday, marking the third death at the ski resort just weeks into the season.

According to the New Zealand Herald, the Christchurch, NZ resident, who was wearing a helmet, was skiing out of bounds with her teenage daughter on the South West Face around 2:30 p.m. local time. While skiing, she fell and slid approximately 400m (1,312 feet) over rocks before landing in an adjacent gully. She was helicoptered to Christchurch Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.

Monday’s death comes just weeks after the June 17th death of a 21-year-old American woman who fell while skiing out-of-bounds and slid into rocks, dying several days later in a Christchurch hospital. Just three days earlier, a 60-year-old skier passed away after his vehicle left the Mt. Hutt access road after a day spent skiing.
