The Tour de France Stage 10 has just wrapped as the cyclists have completed the trek from Chambery to Gap.
Unlike cyclist Cadel Evans, who lost the yellow jersey after just one day, Luxembourg’s Andy Schleck successfully defended the overall lead with his performance in today’s stage. Sergio Paulinho (Radio Shack) took the win in Stage 10.
However, Tour favorite Alberto Contador still lingers with Schleck and the other favorites, so Schleck will have to work to increase his lead over Contador before the start of Pyrenees stages in the coming days.
Overall Stage 10 wasn’t as dramatic as those in the past few days, as most cyclists rode rather conservatively to avoid any stumbles. Of course, with all the picturesque Alpine scenery surrounding the riders, this shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise.
Lance Armstrong, the 7-time Le Tour champion, who has all but given up on winning the Tour, has at this point be thinking about helping 6th place American cyclist Levi Lepheimer for a spot on the podium.
