Olympic ski gold medalist Bode Miller will likely return to the 2010-11 competition circuit after all, as Ski Racing reports he has signed and submitted his contract to be a member of the U.S. Ski Team for the upcoming season. The report comes on the heels of Miller’s nominations at tonight’s ESPY Awards.
U.S. men’s coach Sasha Rearick told The Associated Press he has spoken with Miller and that the two-time World Cup overall champion is “jazzed up” about skiing this season.
Miller captured gold, silver and bronze medals at the Vancouver Olympics, bringing his career Olympic total to five medals.
Following this most recent Winter Games, he was uncertain if he would return for the 2010-11 World Cup season, taking the summer to ponder his future.
Miller parted from the U.S. team in 2007 and skied independently for two seasons, before ultimately rejoining the U.S. squad in October 2009.
