Park City Mountain Resort (PCMR) has announced plans to significantly expand their night skiing operations for the upcoming Winter 2010-11 season.
The Utah ski resort is poised to add 23 percent more ski trails to its nightime offerings, from 44.5 to 54.7 acres, after the Park City Planning Commission recently approved a Conditional Use Permit to build the necessary light poles, according to The Park Record.
PCMR will install new lights on the Three Kings, Quicksilver, and Pick-n-Shovel ski runs to open the areas to night skiing. The affected area includes the Pick-n-Shovel terrain park which PCMR describes as their “entry level park that features smaller jumps and funboxes to help you get to the next level.”
The approved hours of operation for the lights will allow their use from sundown to 10 p.m starting December 15th until April 1st.
