Subaru, the Japanese car company known for its legendary AWD capabilities, has long been tied to the ski and snowboard world. The cars known in mountain towns for flat out dominating snowy roads have developed a full on cult-following among outdoor enthusiasts. Just recently, the company, who is the title sponsor for the Subaru Freeskiing World Tour, even announced new 2011 Subaru Outbacks will have a Wi-Fi option enabling snow sports fans to check out the latest ski report from the comfort of their ride.

But it’s not just customers rewarding the car maker with their devoted business, as Subaru frequently gives back to their loyal following with special offers such as the Subaru “Badge of Ownership”, and now the company is poised to push this idea even further.

Starting this July, Subaru will team up with Billabong to offer the “Billabong Surf Experience presented by Subaru.” The multi-stop event series will bring a full day of fun at the beach with free surf lessons, a BBQ, games & prizes, and a whole lot more.

Perhaps best of all, for every person that participates in a free surf lesson, Subaru test drive or takes a ride to the beach in the surf shuttle, Subaru will make a donation to the California State Parks. Yes you read that correctly, Subaru will donate money into the pockets of California’s best and most beautiful playgrounds, all while you’re getting your tan on.

Stops include:

July 28th – Becker Surfboards, Malibu
July 30th – The Beach House, Santa Barbara
Aug 6th – Hobie Surf Shop, Dana Point
Aug 20th – Katin Surf Shop, Huntington Beach
Aug 27th – Hansen’s, Encinitas
