Park rangers have found the body of a 40-year-old backcountry skier in Colorado’s Rocky Mountain National Park.
The National Park Service says the man had been reported overdue on Sunday. According to reports, the man was said to be an experienced backcountry skier and had planned to hike in and ski the snow field near Finch Lake.
The man’s body was found roughly 10 miles from the nearest trailhead. Weather conditions and logistics have delayed the body recovery until later today.
At this time It’s not known how the man died. The man’s identity and hometown won’t be released until relatives can be notified.
