Park rangers recover body of backcountry skier found dead in RMNP

Rocky Mountain National Park Rangers have recovered and identified the body of the backcountry skier found dead near the park’s Finch Lake snowfield on Sunday.

40-year-old Lacy Elliot Meadows of Broomfield, CO, was reported missing on Sunday before park rangers discovered Meadows’ body approximately 10 miles from a RMNP trailhead. The man was reportedly planning to hike and ski one of RMNP’s snowfields.

An autopsy is currently pending.
