The luxurious Vail Cascade Resort has announced the addition of a shuttle service to the Silverthorne Factory Outlet stores, offering an affordable and unique shopping experience to Vail visitors.

Shopping in Vail’s posh boutiques has been a highlight for many travelers during their winter ski trips and summer festival visits, but transportation to nearby Summit County to peruse the high-end outlet stores such as Calvin Klein, Coach and Ann Taylor has previously been accessible only via private transportation. Outlet Shopping Express began in July as a service to Vail guests to ride to the stores in plush style, with round trip service from the Vail Cascade Resort to the Outlets at Silverthorne.

“Each rider receives our red carpet treatment when they arrive. A video can be viewed while traveling here that will provide helpful tips for saving extra money,” states the Outlets at Silverthorne marketing director Jayne Esser.

Pam Smith, director of leisure sales at Vail Cascade Resort adds, “Our guests have been asking for a means to get to the Outlets at Silverthorne. International and domestic customers alike tend to build a day of shopping into their vacation stays, and this shuttle takes care of the desire to engage in a relaxing shopping experience from start to finish. Additionally, with the nominal cost of using the Silverthorne shuttle, we think that this service also meets a ‘green’ standard for keeping more cars off of our mountain highways by sharing a shopping ride to Silverthorne.”

The low-down:

- Kids under ten ride free

- Shuttles run trips seven days a week, beginning at 9:30 a.m. with return trips at 3:00 p.m.

- Prices range from $15-$30 per person round trip
