Sunday River, Maine, is famous for its snowy peaks that annually offer some of the East’s best skiing and riding, but with the resort’s recent summer additions, the area is quickly becoming a truly year round destination resort. The latest resort attraction will truly sweep people off of their feet as Sunday River is set to unveil their new Zip Line Tours starting this Saturday, August 7.

“The addition of Zip Line Tours is something that we have been exploring with our parent company, Boyne Resorts, for a couple of years now,” said Dana Bullen, president of Sunday River. “It’s an activity that we can offer to guests any time of the year and brings us that much closer to becoming a year round destination.”

Sunday River’s new Zip Line Tours are comprised of six lines that traverse the wooded area between the ski trails of Mixing Bowl, Tourist Trap, Outta Here, and Thataway. Lines vary between 100 and 300 feet in length and will be open for all seasons.

Tours consist of equipment fitting, orientation, and a guided expedition through each of the six stations. Interested participants must be at least three feet tall and weigh between 60 and 300 pounds.

Zip Line Tours are open for the summer, Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. and are $39 for all ages. Reservations are not required but are highly recommended, (800) 543-2754. Tours will remain open through Columbus Day Weekend, close briefly, and will reopen for the winter shortly following opening day of the ski season.
