The University of Utah’s director of skiing, Eli Brown, has announced his resignation from the program.

Brown, who had been with the program for the past five years, cited personal reasons for his decision. According to a press release, the Utah athletics department will immediately begin a national search for Brown’s replacement.

“I would like to thank the Utah Athletics Department and the supporters of the ski team,” Brown said. “It was a great time working with gifted athletes in a beautiful setting. I wish the team the best of luck and an expedient path towards a 12th NCAA title.”

Brown’s tenure was marked with five top-10 teams, three national champions skiers, and 15 skiers earning All-America honors. In 2008, Brown led Utah to a third-place finish at the NCAA Championships, its best finish since 2005. The Utes finished fourth in the nation this past season.
