While Shaun White might be done collecting additional Winter Olympic Medals until at least 2014, it doesn’t mean the 23-year-old action sports phenom has gotten sick of gobbling up other pieces of shiny hardware.

This weekend marks Shaun White’s official return to the Dew Tour, and his first pro skate contest since his triumphant return at X Games 16, where he earned a silver medal in a tight finish.

During today’s prelims, Shaun White and 6 other skaters successfully advanced to Sunday’s skate vert finals to be held in Portland, OR.

Joining White in the finals will be X Games 16 skate vert champion Pierre-Luc Gagnon, three-time Dew Cup winner Bucky Lasek, and defending Portland stop champion Bob Burnquist of Brazil.

Don’t expect any historic 1080s from White, but he did mention at least one of the tricks he intends to throw on Sunday.

White announced he again plans to try his trick, “The Armadillo,” a frontside heel-flip body varial 540, during the stop in Portland. Putting his private halfpipe training to good use, White landed the move for first time in competition at X Games 16.

Leave it to White to come up with a trick that makes the Double McTwist 1260 sound as basic as an ollie.
