The 2010 Supergirl Jam Snowboard Rail Jam took place on Sunday at Venice Beach amidst a snowy set up that featured nearly 80,000 lbs of the authentic white stuff.
The biggest storyline of the day was clearly Alaskan snowboarder Danyale Patterson, who dispatched Wrightwood, CA native Laurie Currier from capturing a three-peat at the event.
Earning best trick honors for the day was Desiree Melancon of Riverside, CA who pulled off a technical frontside 180 into a switch 5-0 grind with a switch backside 180 out.
This event marked the 4th year of the Supergirl Jam, the action sports industry’s largest, all-female competition and lifestyle festival that was designed to empower young ladies and celebrate their strength, intelligence and creativity. The Venice event was the third stop in the 2010 Supergirl Jam event series, and the only one to feature snowboarding.
The 2010 Supergirl Jam event series will be broadcast nationally in November as part of event producer ASA Entertainment’s action sports block on Fox Sports Net and FUEL TV.
