Peter Glenn Ski & Sports has announced the official start of winter for skiers, snowboarders, outdoor sports enthusiasts and those bracing for another winter with the return of the Fort Lauderdale Ski and Snowboard Show, October 1-3, 2010 and the Atlanta Ski Show, October 22-24, 2010. Combined, the shows represent the largest and oldest ski and snowboard events in the Southeast featuring a one weekend only exclusive merchandise sale, a one-stop shop for discount winter travel packages at leading national resorts, a winter clothing drive and activities for the entire family.

Each show includes more than 10,000 square feet devoted to over $1,000,000 worth of quality winter and outdoor merchandise with savings up to 70%, an exhibitors’ area featuring equipment manufacturers, airlines, specialty travel agencies, tour operators and resorts in the United States and Canada. A national partnership with the charity, One Warm Coat, encourages guests to donate warm winter clothing for distribution in the local community. In exchange for a gently worn winter jacket, guests will receive $10 off the purchase of a new winter jacket at the show.

“For anyone planning a ski or snowboard vacation or just enjoying what forecasters predict will be a winter colder than the last, this is a once-a-year opportunity to get a jump on the season with great values, to stretch the dollar and multiply the savings on merchandise and leisure activities,” states David Mahoney, Peter Glenn Ski & Sports marketing director.

The Fort Lauderdale show, now in its 21st year, will be held at the Broward County Convention Center (1950 Eisenhower Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL). Activities include a rock-climbing wall, a ski-snowboard simulator and a bounce house children’s area. Admission is $5 per person, free for children 16 and under. The Atlanta show, now in its 15th year, will be held at Center Court at the Galleria Specialty Mall (42A Galleria Parkway, NW, Atlanta, GA). Admission is free.
